| Welcome
to the home page of the Texoma Regional Solid Waste
Management Plan. From here you can link to Plan
study sessions, information on grants made under the Plan, and
a compilation of the recommendations made in the Plan.
The revised Texoma Regional
Solid Waste Management Plan was adopted by
the 80th Texas Legislature in May 2007 and is now part of State
regulation (30 TAC 330) by inclusion. Both State law and
TCEQ-issued
regulations call for all solid waste activities in the region
to be in conformity with the Texoma Plan:

Conformity With Regional or Local Solid Waste Management
Plan.
(a) On the adoption of a regional or local solid waste
management plan by commission rule, public and private
solid waste management activities and state regulatory
activities must conform to that plan. |

Municipal Solid Waste Disposal Rule 30 TAC 330.568(c)(3)
It shall be the responsibility of the affected local
governments to implement the policies and
recommendations of an adopted regional plan and to
maintain policies and activities that do not conflict
with provisions in State and regional plans. |
Copies of the Texoma Plan have
been deposited at the following sites: the City Managers of
the Cities of Bonham, Denison, Gainesville and Sherman; the
Reference Sections in the four public libraries in these
communities; and, the Regional Environmental Resources Library
of the Texoma Council of Governments.

Recommendations
of the Texoma Plan
The Regional Solid Waste Management Plan has been adopted by
reference into Title 30, Texas Administrative Code, Chapter
330, Subchapter O as specified in Title 30 Texas
Administrative Code Chapter 330. Paper copies are
available through TCOG, TCEQ, public libraries, city and
county planners in the Texoma Region and will be available
here.
